You may submit new or already published blog posts from your own blog. You must own the rights to your post. If posted here at Flash Fiction Chronicles, you retain those rights.

GUIDELINES:

The target length of posts should be between 200 and 1200 words, although longer pieces will be considered.
All submissions should be clean, tight, edited, proofread, and focused on a particular aspect of writing flash fiction, the process of writing, or the discussion of publishing and marketing.
Here are some possible topics:
Write about why you write flash.
Write about why you write.
Write about not being published.
Write about the experience of your first published piece.
Write about how you handle rejection.
Write about strategies you use to keep your head in the game and your fingers on the key board.
Write about your experiences with writing groups, seminars, conferences, and classes in general.

Write about what you think is more important craft or talent or both.
Write about your process.
Write about how you get your characters.
Write about how you get your ideas.
Write about your favorite writing book.
Write about what books inspired you to write.

Write about the craft: the story arc, the three-act structure, character development, theme, motif, symbolism, metaphor, what makes a hack, settings, set-up and pay-offs.

And here’s the rest of the information you will need:

GUIDELINES

1. The prompt for String-of-10 Four will be available at 12:01 on Sunday, February 12, 2012 here at FFC.

However, this year we will give out *a special prize for the story that best incorporates the theme. The Patricia McFarland Memorial prize. First, second, and third place winners are eligible to also win this prize, but any story that is submitted that best uses this theme may win.
7. Entries must be received by 11:59 PDT Saturday, February 18.
8. Winners will be notified sometime in March 2012. Publications will follow in April.
9. All decisions made by the FFC staff and our guest judge are final.
